John Hoda served as a police officer and then as an expert fraud investigator for a major insurance company before leaving to become a private investigator. Now, John brings his law enforcement and insurance expertise, along with decades of investigative experience, to the other side of the aisle and strives to help the little guy get the justice he deserves. Whether it’s cyber sleuthing with cutting edge digital investigative techniques or old fashioned pavement pounding and door knocking John Hoda and Elm City Detectives are determined to find the facts that make your case.

 

John Hoda

John A. Hoda is a police trained and college educated former insurance company fraud investigator with decades of experience as a private investigator.

His experience and passionate pursuit of the truth have, throughout his career, enabled him to get essential facts and find critical witnesses even when other’s have failed.

He is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Legal Investigator, one of only 74 in the world, and is trained in Uncovering Reasonable Doubt: The Component Method. John is an expert in the art and science of interviewing and is the creator of the The Ultimate Guide to Taking Statements: DVD Training.

John has served as the Region One Director of the National Association of Legal Investigators and is a long standing member of the CT Association of Licensed Private Investigators.

John founded Elm City Detectives to provide smaller firms and ordinary people access to the same level of professional investigation as the powerful prosecution, corporation or insurance company they’re going up against.

First started working part-time as a investigator while pursuing a Criminal justice Degree in 1999. Over the next 17 years, he became a well-seasoned investigator expanding into Forensic Genealogy, Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice and honing his skills on Criminal Defense. He now works side by side with John A. Hoda in field investigations requiring scene canvassing and witness interviewing. He brings his new school approach to investigating through combining best practices with the latest in technology. ‘
